Disrupting an industry.
Etianverse is an entertainment company on a mission to create global IPs rooted in comic book characters of African origin. With a growing portfolio of stories tailored to young adults, they sought a bold new brand identity that could stand alongside giants like DC Comics, Marvel, and Image Comics, while celebrating the richness of African storytelling. Our task was to create a logo and identity that embraced their cultural roots while offering the versatility to expand into global narratives.
Stories have been told throughout time on tablets be it stone, paper or through technology. I chose to contain these elements in a shape with the exact ratio of a conventional comic page.
This symbol; the first visual element in the Etianverse language represents the letter ‘e’. This is symbolized into a planet with an outer ring showcasing the large scale of the stories being told.
The ‘V’ in ‘verse’ I chose to represent in the form of a triangle, a delta shape meant to mean positive change in many cultures.
The challenge
To design a logo that reflects the company’s foundation in African storytelling while being adaptable to global audiences and narratives.
To create a modern identity that appeals to young adults while positioning the brand as a credible player in the competitive entertainment industry.
To strike a balance between cultural authenticity and mainstream, commercial appeal.
The outcome
The new brand identity positions Etianverse as a bold, culturally authentic, and globally relevant entertainment company. By blending the richness of African storytelling with a sleek, modern aesthetic, the brand has the potential to captivate young adult audiences and attract partnerships with major players in the entertainment industry. This identity is not just a logo—it’s a foundation for building a legacy of great stories and unforgettable adventures.
